the symbol now known internationally as the peace sign was created in 1958 by graphic designer, 'gerald holtom', who was assigned to create banners for an anti-nuclear campaign.

soon after, the sign seemed to be everywhere, gaining massive popularity around the globe & demonstrated in different cultures & industries, all in the hopes of world peace, present to this day.
